From the brilliant «What If» series by xkcd: What would the world be like if the land masses were spread out the same way as now – only rotated by an angle of 90 degrees? Turns out, some things change drastically, some not that much. Take London, for example: «The food is still bland, the Thames is full of piranha, and it’s the only place on Earth where tigers apologize as they attack you.»
