The Valtari Mystery Film Experiment

Sigur Rós have successfully made a transition from «the somewhat odd Icelandic band everyone can agree to like» to one of the bands at the forefront of leveraging the internet for their artistic work. In their latest project, called «The Valtari Mystery Film Experiment», they have a dozen film makers produce videos for the tracks of their latest album, with «a modest budget» and no instructions whatsoever. What’s more, they are inviting everyone to contribute a video, one of them will be selected to be part of the series. Six videos are already available, go watch them!

Huw Price on Backward Causation

Causality has always fascinated me. I think I can follow David Hume when we argues that we shouldn’t assume a causal relation between two events just because they appear to always follow each other. The idea being that something can be caused by something else that happened after that. It’s like time-travelling causation. I can see your head start spinning from here, so let’s jump right into the 15-minute-podcast.
