Famine In East Africa

Famine In East Africa

In Focus

This is the tragedy that was not exhaustively covered by Western media last week: At the Horn of Africa, more than 10 million people are on the verge of dying of hunger โ€“ because of a terrible drought and terrorist groups blocking access for aid, for one. But also because Western governments are too busy bailing out their banks once again and because speculators are making big money on skyrocketing food prices. The images Alan Taylor has collected are hard to bear, but not looking at them is no option.
