The science behind human irrationality just passed a huge test
Turns out: Humans are indeed as irrational as we believed them to be. With a number of experiments in the 1970s, Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky had laid the groundwork for understanding how people make decisions when faced with uncertainty (my usual reminder: «Thinking, Fast and Slow» is one of the best books you’ll ever read). Interestingly, their experiments have never been directly replicated – until now.
