A lot has been said about the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul, and thus the entire country. A lot remains to be said, and done. Despite its title, this episode from The New York Times’ The Daily doesn’t try to explain the big picture. To the contrary, it zooms in and provides a window into one woman’s dramatic, desperate days leading up to Kabul’s fall. Told through voice messages she exchanged with a reporter. The one I can’t get out of my head since: «I lost my house. I lost my city. I lost my country. I lost my dreams.»
