In your 30s, you’ll discover happiness is just persistence and sheer will

I rediscovered this beautiful, sad yet uplifting personal essay by Lauren Brown from 2015, on the pursuit of happiness. «There were really only two states of being: alive or not. When faced with the latter, the former felt fantastic, no matter the conditions.» (I was lucky enough to once work with Lauren on a story — the reason why I rediscovered her essay is a sad one: It’s now one year since she passed away.)
