The Fight Over Animal Names Has Reached a New Extreme
An interesting debate that I wasn’t aware of until I read this. Quite a few animals are named after specific people, some with rather questionable history. Should we rename them? Probably. The question remains: Should any species ever be named after a human being? The argument: «Wildlife doesn’t belong to anyone, and shouldn’t be named as if it does.»
