It’s Time to Replace Ambition with Adaptation
An older essay I discovered this week (it’s from autumn 2020, which, depending on how I think about it, feels like years ago or yesterday or both). The author, self-proclaimed «recovering overachiever», makes the case for focusing one’s energy on adapting well to changing contexts, not pursuing ever more ambitious goals. «Our individualized, highly specialized career ambition is no longer a suitable match for the world we’re living in.»

From Weekly Filet #360, in September 2021.
