Iceland’s best known soundscape architects Sigur Rós are back with a new record. And they know their internet 101. Full album stream with social media reactions right there on their own site.
Their music is both melancholic and upbeat, their lyrics both catchy and intelligent – it’s hard not to fall in love with The National. Their sixth album, due on Monday, is the perfect iteration, yet another step closer to perfecting their sound. What’s more, they have a documentary out, made by singer Matt Berninger’s brother, a metalhead who thinks The National are pretty lame.

For everyone else (and anyone interested in the magic of technology), there’s «The Infinite Jukebox». This MIT project analyses songs for recurring patterns and turns them into infinite loops. You can pick songs from a list or upload your own. Bonus: very nice visualisations of song patterns.
